Elves are one of the first races created by Lumia, and are tasked with the protection of nature and the balance in the world. The elves seem aloof, mostly staying within the forests and wild places of the world, avoiding more civilised areas as much as possible. This naturally puts them at odds with the humans, and although the humans harbour some aggression towards the elves due to their attempts at stopping human industrialization of the world, elves are very passive and forgiving to the humans. Most elves are forest elves, standing at roughly the same height as humans, but with a more slender build and pointed ears. They reside in ancient villages deep in the woods, living at peace with the land. Due to their close connection with nature and Lumia, elves have a strong bond with the fairies of the world, and so they often form alliances and are generally on good terms. Due to the elves’ seniority and benevolence towards the other races, they often have friendly relationships with their neighbours. However, the elves never seem to be very open, always keeping secrets and they never reveal much about their own culture to others. Something about them always seems a bit off, and no one knows why.
However, some elves don’t follow this way of life, and reside underground instead, often in the great mountain in the centre of the world, Turris. Their skin turns a dark grey, and their eyes become a glowing red, their hair following suit. These grey elves are a vicious and brutal species, their culture based on battle and cannibalism. Wood elf hospitality does not extend to this form of fallen elf, and the two races often skirmish, and are open enemies. Another name for the grey elves is the Traitors of Lumia, because they turned their back on the teachings of Lumia, and now dwell in their caves and castles, living a hateful life.
